Your Journey to the ECOSAFE Label: Transparency and Support.

The ECOSAFE Compliance Label is granted when a company demonstrates it has implemented controls to systematically identify and comply with their applicable legal and regulatory environmental framework and commitments. Our program is designed to guide you effectively through this demonstration process.

Focus on Key Environmental Aspects: The 5 Exposures of the ECOSAFE Label.

The ECOSAFE Label program addresses significant environmental aspects through a clear framework. Verification focuses on your legal compliance assessment program related to the management of:

  • Air (A)

Management of air emissions and air quality impacts. This includes controls for managing fugitive emissions from valves and equipment, monitoring combustion in flares.

  • Water (W)

Responsible water use and management of water effluents. Involves production water management, effluent treatment to comply with permitted discharge limits, and stormwater runoff control plans at facilities.

  • Soil (S)

Protection of soil and management of soil contamination. Includes spill prevention controls, management of chemical storage areas, and remediation protocols for historical or accidental contamination.

  • Energy (E)

Energy consumption efficiency and management. Focuses on monitoring energy consumption, implementing efficiency programs (e.g., pump optimization, use of VFDs), and evaluating cleaner energy sources.

  • Specific Industry (SI)

Management of environmental aspects unique to your industry (e.g., radioactive materials, specific chemical waste, biodiversity impacts). For O&G, this may include NORM (Naturally Occurring Radioactive Materials) waste management, drilling mud management, or biodiversity protection plans in sensitive operating areas.

The Detailed Process to Obtain Your ECOSAFE Label.

The ECOSAFE Compliance Label recognizes companies that have established effective controls to meet environmental and safety regulations. It reflects a strong commitment to sustainability, legal compliance, and responsible business practices. Certification provides a competitive edge, reduces regulatory risk, and enhances a companys reputation in ESG-driven markets.

The certification process follows a two-step approach, both conducted by ECOSAFE. It begins with an internal application review, followed by a Stage 2 on-site audit. This comprehensive evaluation ensures objectivity, integrity, and alignment with legal and sustainability standards, while also helping companies identify opportunities for continuous improvement and long-term growth.
